Looking for the true Canadian Wilderness, come visit Spruce Lake Provicial Park located in the dry Southern Chilcotin Mountains, only a spectacular 2.5 hours or 144 km drive by vehicle from Whistler to our base. Nestled in the spectacular Southern Chilcotin Mountains on the shores of Tyaughton Lake, is Tyax Resort. This wilderness and recreational paradise is ideal for mountain bike adventures. With a hot, dry climate and hundreds of kilometres of trails spidering from the lodge there is something for all mountain bike enthusiasts. Beginners and families can enjoy the local trails around the resort, while Intermediate and expert riders can tackle huge alpine loops from the Lodge or use Spruce Lake as a staging ground to explore over 160 km of alpine singletrack.
These awe-inspiring volcanic and mineral rich mountains are boarded to the west by the massive glacier ields of the Coastal Mountain Range and to the east by the mighty Fraser River grasslands. Dubbed the “rain shadow wilderness” for its dry climate, this area contains many broad alpine valleys and a very rich biodiversity. Discover crystal clear alpine lakes teaming with fish, explore a place where wildflowers flourish, biking trails through thick carpets of wildflowers, where Grizzly bears roam wild, and endless buff singletrack that would make any mountain biker drool.
Spruce Lake
Once you have arrived at our Tyaughton Lake base, we will load the plane with all the bikes and gear. After dep
arting the base, we will be flying in a DHC-2 Beaver floatplane to the sub-alpine of Spruce lake, which is located at an elevation of 5100'. The 25 kms Gun Creek Trail is one of the best of rolling singletracks in British Columbia. Dropping through alpine meadows carpeted with spectacular wildflowers, following the raging Gun Creek, this trail is quintessential if riding in BC; big mountains, tight singletrack and incredible views. We recommend that you have an intermediate level of riding.

Warner Lake
If you have seen the mountain bike movie 'The Collective' then you will know exactly what this trail is about!
This guided tour departs our Tyaughton Lake base via DHC-2 floatplane to the sub-alpine of Warner Lake, located at an elevation of 6050'. Approximately 40 kms of singletrack and amazing scenery await you. The trail descends along side the entire Gun Creek, it varies from technical to smooth rolling singletrack. Advanced riding skills, and stamina are required for this all day ride.
