I've been on a few trips with Brian and Michael whilst spending a year living in Whistler and I got to do the best riding I have ever done with these guys in my life and probably the best I will ever do (even better than the world famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park)! First off me and a few friends went and rode Seymour and Cypress in North Vancouver, which I think was the best of all, these guys showed us trails which we would probably just never of found by ourselves, when we were struggling with some of the sections they gave us a few pointers and then drove us back up for another go again and again!! Then we went on a trip to the famous Kamloops which we had heard alot about and it lived up to all the hype...Rose Hill and Harper Mountain were awesome. They drove us up, kept us plied with Gatorade, fed us homemade cakes and awesome chili and even played us DVD's in the van on the trip back to Whistler!

"We used them last year (July 2005) and had a brilliant time. There was oudles of biking heaven for everyone - from Michael with his extreme downhilling; James with his cross country to Simon and I on easy to moderate cross country/family cycling and easy downhilling (yes, even me!!! In full body armour...!! Great fun.)
Highlights included a heli-drop onto a glacier with 3-hour bike ride down it and a weekly cross country fun race with 200 other cyclists, plus Whistler Bike Park of course. The guided rides took us to places we'd never have found on our own at Pemberton, Squamish etc. and the trip to the original Canadian North Shore was totally unforgettable. Plenty of other things to do as well - canoing, white water rafting, walking, sightseeing by plane or helicopter, Hummer rides... and Whistler itself is full of really good cafes, restaurants, shops, nightlife etc.
The chalet is fantastic; beautifully furnished and a view of the mountains to die for - with cooking and carrot cake to match Glentress and a hot tub to soothe away the pains of the day.
Jonny, Mark and Becky (Bear Back Biking) and Michael and Brian (Freerideguides) were fantastic hosts - you just had to ask and they sorted it... If you didn't ask, they suggested and sorted it anyway. They are a young company that goes out of its way to provide real service and I'd like to see them do well.
We've had lots of holidays and been to lots of places - but this was one of THE best. Very, very highly recommended!

Brian and Michael at West Coast Freeride Guides know the CRAIC! They know the best trails, the coolest places and most importantly they know how to put it all together for one heck of a mountain biking experience. Riding on the best trails in BC, just like the ones you see in all the videos. As a guide I was blown away with how smooth the whole operation was and not forgetting the heli-drop, camping and awesome scenery. I know the next time I visit BC I will be hooking up with these guys to make the most of my time when I am there checking out the new trails they have been scoping. CANADA ROCKS!

Thanks for all the help with travel througout the season it was the best riding of my life and I'll hope to catch up with you guys again...I came to Whistler for a year to ride and soon discovered the vast majority of good trails were outside of Whistler. Being that I was from the UK and did not have access to a vehicle, I did some research and found out about West Coast Freeride Guides. I decided to have a go at one of their day trips on the North Shore … Mount Seymour . By the end of the riding season I did about four trips, including one to Kamloops with my mates from back home. Coming from the UK , my idea of downhill is a 4 minute trail, but in BC you're talking about 14 minutes or more. These rides will stick with me for a lifetime and the fact that you've got top guides showing you the maze of trails, it makes it even sweater!

Early on in the summer of 05 some friends and I decided that we wanted to check out the burly trails of the North Shore mountain Mt. Seymour. But, how would we get our bikes and ourselves down there? Where do the trails start? Where do they end? The logistics of the trip were getting out of control.
This is where West Coast Freeride Guides came in...we called them up and booked in for a trip. Michael picked us all up right at our doorstep. We had rockin' tunes all the way down to the top of Mt. Seymour. They knew where all the trails were right away. Both Brian and Michael had a friendly professionalism about them and they were extremely patient with my slow riding and multiple crashes. They were always checking to make sure that I was okay. And, they even gave me a couple of riding pointers over some of the more tech parts of the trail.
At the end of the day we loaded back into the van and headed for home. Our trip was as easy as getting on our bikes and riding...WCFG took care of the rest. If you're in the Sea to Sky corridor for a vacation or even if you're looking to ride some new trails and need some expert advice, guidance and/or shuttles I highly recommend booking in with the West Coast Freeride Guides.
Thanks to Michael and Brian for helping to make my first trip to the infamous Shore a memorable one.

“Brian and Michael, I just wanted to say thank you for the best days of riding in my life!
You did what I thought was impossible. First of all you exceeded my expectations not once but all four days and then you got my wife hooked on shuttling and descending with your excellent guiding down the slopes.
She was totally against any type of downhilling before we met you guys but the last day on our visit when we did Comfortably Numb she was riding my tail on the last descent. She even bought a Heckler and a full set-up of armor from Tantalus Bike Shop the day after the heli-drop...she is already talking about a full on downhill rig.
Everything was great about the trip to Canada but the four days with you was the best without competition! There is a before and after Canada in our life now and we will do whats needed to come back again next year and stay at least three weeks next time and book you guys for some good riding (maybe in the interior) again.”

“Just got back from my first mountain biking trip to Whistler and it was all that I expected and more. Whistler Mountain Bike Park was amazing. Truly a mountain bikers heaven. The highlight of the trip, however, was the tours we took with West Coast Freeride Guides to Pemberton and the North Shore. There is no other way that we could have experienced the local trails if we were on our own. I plan on making annual trips to Whistler and West Coast Freeride Guides will be a big part of it. The riding, the trails and the scenery were all outstanding but the best part were the people. We didn't feel like we were on a tour. It felt like we were out enjoying a ride with our buddies and that is what I enjoy most about mountain biking. Michael and Brian were outstanding and although the riding was epic, the friendships that were made were the best part of the trip. Thanks for everything!”

“Having been on numerous bike tours all over North America and involved in the bike industry for over 5 years, I hate to admit that I can be a tough guy to please sometimes. So when my buddies told me they'd booked some riding with the West Coast Freeride Guides, I was a little skeptical. Boy, was I wrong. Michael and Brian, you are two of the friendliest, most knowledgeable, down to earth guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Your riding skills are off-the-charts good, but you both have the rare ability to instruct and assist hacks like me, and because of you, I successfully rode some stuff I'd never try on my own. I was also amazed at how you both seemed to know every sweet riding spot in BC like you had ridden it the day before. Thanks for a great trip! Can't wait to ride with you again!”
